Hіgh асhіеvеrѕ аrе a bіt оf а unіquе brееd іn any team. We all have these high achievers around us. They are unique. Unique in a way that they demand a lot for themselves. When that doesn’t feed their minds, they demand from others too. There is nothing wrong in being a high achiever .High achievers are successful people who have achieved their ambition or who are just about there. This article is basically for those who are high achievers but are not sure if they are. Once you know that you are a high achiever, admit the fact that you need to unwind and let go off some of those high achieving energies sometimes and enjoy your life keeping a good balance between work and play.

Most high achievers are people who others look up to in an organisation. They have this unique quality of keeping up their excitement and passion even at times when everyone else has lost it. This passion is a valuable asset if you ask any team leader or the head of an organisation. Although this drive for success is mostly considered as inspiration, if you are someone like this, you may not have many friends. People want to rant at times, we are all humans after all and not everyone has the drive like you. It is better to keep your overly expressive passion to yourself at times. Maybe motivate others in ways that are easier for them to understand and relate to .When you are on an overdrive, you are more likely to achieve your targets. These people are very result oriented. Once you have achieved your results, it is very likely that the head raises the bar for you and sometimes even for everyone else in the team! You might love challenges,not everyone in your team does!

High achiever is often quite self-centred. They are result-oriented but also self-absorbed which is why they stay focused and able to achieve their targets with greater concentration. A high achiever is usually one step ahead in seeking to impress with the quantity of work they have done, alongside the finished product. This tunnel vision that they hold gives out negative vibes to the team members .It is like telling them ‘I know it all, so keep off!’ My advice would be to lift your nose up from the desk and come out of your shell. Look at what others are doing. Check if they are struggling or competing. See if one of them can help you finish your work faster .In return, could your skills help a colleague achieve those targets that he is struggling with. Another advice goes out to the team leaders. If you have a high achiever in your team, encourage them to combat their natural tendency to be self-absorbed by making them a part of a collaborative project.

These high achievers are really funny at times. These results-oriented, self-occupied and task-focused high achievers are usually very controlling. They do not let other people know though that they don’t trust you. When they collaborate with other people, they consider this as a huge risk. They are poor at teamwork and delegating jobs. They want to be in charge of the whole project, which basically means that they have a team just for namesake. A bit of advice for those high achievers is that think about how your task can be accomplished in less time if you delegate and trust. Maybe trust people with what skills they have. The following advice can go for the team leaders or managers of the team. Be careful of these selfish high achievers who try to take over the whole project. He might deliver but you could be losing some valuable members of the team .It is quite offensive to the other team members   when one of the team members is overly controlling and arrogant.
